Randy to the Rescue Coming to Las Vegas

Randy Fenoli, known for TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, is coming to Las Vegas for “Randy to the Rescue“! Randy’s bridal salon on wheels will be featured on his new series Randy to the Rescue debuting this summer.

Couture bridal gowns will be brought to each city, a special presentation will be made with some tips and trends, and there’s an opportunity for a consultation with Randy himself.

Wedding Related Items on Sales Sites

I am obsessed with these private shopping sites such as Rue La La, HauteLook, Fab, The Foundary, and Gilt. In the past month, I have purchased some awesome furniture from these sites and saved a bit of money! Once in a while, it’s great to see wedding related items on these sites too. Yesterday on Rue La La, I browsed through wedding dresses from designers such as Jenny Yoo and Sue Wong and shower and wedding gifts from Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, and Kate Spade. Cool stuff and great savings! Check it out for yourself!

Your Beauty Call was launched just shy of one year ago and has already become one of the top referred mobile hair and makeup teams in the wedding industry. LaVey Ortiz and Janine Cali make up Your Beauty Call. After ten years of working at all the top salons on the Las Vegas Strip, they finally decided to venture off on their own and start Your Beauty Call in January of 2011. In just one year, they did makeup and hair on numerous brides spanning all different genres from classic and romantic to pin up and fun, weddings and countless photo shoots.

In 9 months, they averaged about 50 weddings which they admit hasn’t left much room for free time for themselves. Somehow, LaVey had managed to also get married which was a wedding Green Orchid Events planned!

They hope to expand Your Beauty Call in 2012 by hiring another hair stylist and makeup artist. LaVey is also in the process of looking into starting her own lash line. Can’t wait for that one!

LaVey’s Q&A:

Describe your perfect day off. Any day off is perfect to me. They are rare and far between.

Beer or wine: Wine for sure! With cheese and crackers please.

Coffee or tea: Tea

Heels or flats: Wedges

Comedy or drama: Comedy but every now and then I enjoy a good gut wrenching drama

Email, phone, or text: email, text then phone and in that particular order

Stay in/or go out? I am such a homebody. Going out is a rare occasion

If you had to only wear one makeup product, what would it be? My one favorite makeup product is a toss up between concealer and mascara

What is your one makeup tip to achieve a great look? My one tip to achieve a great makeup look would be to achieve good skin care regimen. You’ll never get a good end result if you dont have a good base. Oh, and last but not least, I think the world’s greatest beauty secret since the beginning of time is good ol’ H20. Water is so so good for you and it’s free! Drink up!

The Jewelers Downtown Diamond Dash

I just learned about a really cool event taking place tomorrow in Downtown Las Vegas. It’s the Downtown Diamond Dash hosted by The Jewelers! Over 600 couples will compete to win a $15,000 Natalie K diamond ring! Check out the details below!

They’re using location-based, mobile gaming technology.

The Jewelers, Inc. is the first Las Vegas jeweler to partner with the Google-backed mobile gaming company, SCVNGR. By developing a location-based game accessible via mobile phone, The Jewelers, Inc. is giving couples the ability to follow clues from their cell phones throughout the city in search of a $15,000 diamond ring hidden somewhere in downtown Las Vegas.

In addition, this event benefits the Three Square Food Bank. Participants are encouraged to bring donations to support Three Square’s efforts to increase awareness about hunger in the Las Vegas area and start to close the hunger gap.

To sign up for a chance to find the ring, couples are required to submit their love stories at www.VegasDiamondDash.com The diamond ring to be hidden is currently on display at The Jewelers, Inc. along with details on how to play. The Jewelers, Inc. is located at 2400 Western Avenue in Las Vegas.

Truth be told, it is a small goal of mine to own a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. It was love at first sight when I saw that red sole bottom. Well fellas, if you are a fan of the color red, you are in luck! There is now a men’s collection of Christian Louboutin shoes. What a nice way to dress your feet on your wedding day for the groom and groomsmen.

Get Nailed a 24/7 Beauty Salon

Get Nailed is a beauty salon that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I greatly appreciate this concept due to the fact that I am a huge night owl. The salon is located across the street from Hard Rock Hotel and would be the perfect girls night out for a bachelorette party. It is also a great option for a quick fix manicure and pedicure. The price of their services is higher than your local salon due the fact that you can get your beauty regimen done at 3:00am! The salon is hip with black couches, flat screens, and the walls covered in wallpaper of the Las Vegas Strip.

What did you do prior to doing this? I was in baking for 3 years. My high school job.

If you didn’t do hair for a living, what would you do instead? I always thought I would be a nurse that delivers babies.

What are some of your hobbies? I love cooking with family and friends and traveling.

What was one of the craziest wedding experiences? I think it was when we had two very large wedding parties to get ready, booked for the same day, not knowing they wanted to be ready around the same times. Needless to say we pulled it off, but after running around mad and having to hire an assistant, we had to drink that night.

What was the best wedding experience you have had? It’s so hard to pick one because I have been so fortunate to have so many great brides. Just being able to experience the joy of how beautiful I make them look and feel, makes it all worthwhile. There are a lot of bests.

What is your inspiration? My grandma raised me watching old movies and musicals, so I am very inspired by classic beauty, Broadway and old Hollywood. Every trend comes back around and that’s where a lot of glam started.

Name an exotic place you want to visit: I would love to go to Morocco. The colors, the culture etc…I wouldn’t mind experiencing it all.

The best piece of advice you can offer a couple on their wedding day: I would say not to stress and really enjoy your special day because even though everything doesn’t always run smoothly, it always comes together and makes for good memories. One you laugh about later. Plus, the show can’t start without you.

Something interesting I want to add is I think that a client and stylist should click because it is a relationship built on trust and to have a happy bride, we have to be on the same page. I have been very fortunate to have clicked with so many great brides.

Floral Embellished Dresses

As a huge girly girl, it doesn’t come as a surprise that I LOVE flowers. I love to wear floral headbands and hair pieces and I am envious of Juliet’s daughter Bailey’s floral head band collection. While shopping for wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses with my friend Karla, I saw some floral embellished dresses that I thought were so unique and feminine.
