That is too cute! My fiance and I are getting married at Madison Square in Savannah, Ga on Labor day weekend, Sept. 4. For a couple of reasons… First, we got engaged in Savannah. Second, he being a military brat, and my parent’s moving away from my home town I grew up in, we felt we had no “hometown” to go home to get married in. Since he is being stationed at Fort Stewart and we will be moving to Savannah, we hope to make it our hometown.
We hope to go on our honeymoon to Costa Rica, but nothing has been booked yet, since the military is so unpredictable

Here’s Becca’s story:
My fiancé Steve and I met online. We were both dating other people when we signed up for OKCupid.com to see what it was all about. We corresponded via email for a few months then starting IMing for about a week. When I split with my then boyfriend, I sent him an email to let him know and it turned out he’d just moved out of his ex’s place. We made plans to meet for dinner, which lasted about 20 minutes as my friends were frantically calling and texting me. Turns out one of their neighbors set the building on fire and they needed a place to stay. I promised him it wasn’t a “bad date” phone call and that I’d call later. After they were settled into my place, I called him and we talked and set up our next date for a few days later. We had a fabulous time and I wrote in my journal that he was amazing and had such a good heart and I could see myself with him for a long time. We were engaged 6 months later and are getting married in Vegas on 10-10-10.

Bridal Tips: Enter Wedding Contests & Giveaways
Attention all brides and brides on a budget: Let’s win some free stuff!
While scouring The Wedding Chicks blog and their “sweet deals” section, I was amazed to find pages and pages of talented photographers doing giveaways for full wedding photography services. Many of these photographers are willing to travel to your city as long as you cover the cost of travel and accommodations!
I remember that while I was a high school student applying for college scholarships, we were all told that there are so many scholarships out there that go to waste because people simply do not apply. I’m sure the mentality is, “oh, I’ll never win anything so why should I bother?”. But there ARE people out there getting scholarships (I didn’t pay a dime for college) and winning contests and giveaways (check out a recent winner of ours and her spectacular wedding day!). So what’s the harm in trying?
Besides The Wedding Chicks, read the big wedding blogs out there and do a search for any wedding contests or giveaways. And then I challenge you to enter a few contests!
