On October 1, 2010, Wish Upon a Wedding will begin auctioning off hundreds of products and services, in 46 cities throughout the country, to help couples create the perfect wedding or event, all at incredible prices! All proceeds raised will help grant wedding wishes for terminally ill individuals.

The auctions will be open for bidding during October and November, in conjunction with their Blissful Wishes Ball.

The Blissful Wishes Ball is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and will be taking place in several large cities during November of 2010. Many of the items which will be available AT the actual GALAS are also available to be previewed right here on the Auction site!

The following locations will be hosting a Blissful Wishes Ball, all of which are open to the PUBLIC: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Houston, The Carolinas, Denver, Portland, St. Louis, Atlanta, and Orlando.  Additional locations may be announced soon.

Most donated items are tax-deductible, however we recommend that you speak to an accountant for clarification. Wish Upon a Wedding is operating as a nonprofit organization, incorporated in CA. We are recognized as a 501 c 3 organization, as the IRS received our 1023 application in February of 2010, and it is currently being reviewed.

I am glad to know I am not the only adult who loves Hello Kitty so I was excited to hear that Hello Kitty now has her own line of wines that are produced and bottled in Italy. Twelve lucky girls from After School All Stars, an organization that provides at-risk kids a comprehensive after school program will have the opportunity to dress up like princesses, paint pottery, and enjoy a scrumptious tea party.

Liz Le, owner of The Pottery Shop in Town Square, was the first one on board to offer her studio space to host the event. The newly opened Pottery Shop is a paint your own pottery studio where people of all ages can come in  to paint, relax, and have a good time with family and friends. Ms. Le feels that “this is a great opportunity to give back to the community especially to underprivileged and at-risk kids.  During these hard economic times, families are suffering, so if I can provide children with some fun and happiness, I am glad to do so.”

The event will take place at The Pottery Shop in Town square on February 26, 2010.

If you haven’t been able to make it out to Las Vegas to catch Bette Midler in action, you now have until January 31st of 2010 to do it! “The Showgirl Must Go On” has been one of the most popular Las Vegas shows on the Strip for the last two years thanks to Ms. Midler’s incredible knack for singing, dancing and comedy. Located at the legendary Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Bette Midler’s show is a combination of the glitz and glamour of Vegas with the singing and dancing of Broadway. Not only do people love Ms. Midler from her Hollywood days in movies like The Stepford Wives, The First Wives Club, Hocus Pocus, and Beaches, they also love the native Hawaiian from her Broadway stints on classic shows like Fiddler on the Roof.

On the official website for “The Showgirl Must Go On” Bette Midler wrote a personal message to her fans letting them know that if the President of the United States can make it out to Las Vegas to see her, then so can you! You can expect a lot of glitter and plenty of glam during this show as Bette surrounds herself with amazing showgirls wearing traditional costumes that she dons herself—you wouldn’t believe she’s 64 years old! Along with singing her own songs, Bette Midler performs as her trademark characters including Soph, the oldest Las Vegas showgirl. Throughout the ninety-minute show you will find yourself laughing, singing and reminiscing not only about Bette Midler’s successful career, but her great run on the Las Vegas stage. She even took to her website to give a funny farewell to all of her fans.

“For all of you who made the trek to Sin City, to see me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were the best audiences ever and I had a great time. I begin my closing month on December 29th and play through January 31st, when the curtain will come down on the Showgirl for the last time. I’m getting a little misty-eyed just thinking about it — applying for unemployment is such a pain in the ass.”
