Bars, Service Tables, DJ Booths, and other tables you probably didn’t think about

Brides (and grooms) spend so much time planning out the details of their wedding reception from the guest table linens to the centerpieces to the place cards.  However, one element I noticed couples overlooking are bars, DJ booths, and buffet/station tables.  While it may blend in if you don’t do anything to them and just...

I love the way the yellow brightens everything up with this color palette.

Bridal Bouquet Alternatives

Back in January, I blogged about these exquisite bridal bouquets made out of vintage brooches designed by Fantasy Floral Design. Photo: Alice Hu Photography I’ve been seeing the trend of substituting fresh floral bouquets (please don’t hate me florists because I still love you) for something unique and longer lasting.  Besides those brooch bouquets, here...

These are so beautiful! Just when I thought I had a favorite one, I scrolled down and saw another one that was amazing.

Love the peacock feather bouquet :) If I still suffered from severe allergies I’d go for it. Fortunately I seem to have outgrown my allergies though.

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Bloomingdale’s – In Perfect Harmony

It’s just a pure coincidence that I chose a Mad Hatter/Alice in Wonderland theme for my baby shower at the end of the month.  My friends are planning the shower of course, but I chose the theme and I can still indulge by looking around online. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp is...

I can not wait for the movie to come out! I love all the makeup lines, clothing lines, and jewelry lines inspired by this theme.

I love reading your blog Juliet and I love the Alice in Wonderland theme. Very good choice for a baby shower. It’s so whimsical and inspiring. The creative possibilities are endless with this theme. I think I’m going to set up my store window with an Alice in Wonderland display now. I would love to have my whole store decorated with this theme. Hmmm..

Juliet Douglas - March 10, 2010 - 9:53 pm

Liz, you should decorate The Pottery Shop with an Alice in Wonderland display! That would be so cute!

Thanks for stopping by and for the compliments!

Brooch Bouquets – Bridal Bouquets Made From Vintage Brooches

Some brides are simply not “flower people” and that is okay…when you have a truly classy alternative. I spotted this a few months ago on Alice Hu’s blog, an Orange County based photographer who I met back in September at the Wedding MBA conference. This brooch bouquet would be my personal choice for a fresh...

I remember seeing these a while back too. LOVE them! They are so colorful and fun – definitely an amazing keepsake to have.

I want one to display in my office. Fresh flowers just don’t work out for me unless I’m spoiled and have a florist come in one a week to switch out the arrangements and add water. That’s just unrealistic!

Very cool bouquets. What a great alternative to real flowers.
