Real Wedding: Kristine & Aeden Tie the Knot at Mandalay Bay
Kristine and Aeden hired us pretty close to their wedding day so that Kristine would not be in “work mode” for her entire wedding weekend. As an event manager for a hotel, Kristine wanted to ensure that all the details were taken care of while still being able to enjoy herself.
They were such a joy to work with and I enjoyed working with someone in the industry. We had a mutual respect for each other and I’m so happy to know that she was able to put her trust in our wedding team to coordinate her wedding day flawlessly.
Her weekend consisted of a welcome dessert reception, wedding ceremony at Mandalay Bay complete with a Star Wars light saber exit, and finally a wedding celebration dinner at Red Square. Below are some photos from their wedding weekend.
Favors at the welcome party were chocolate olive picks:
Kristine brought everything with her and we had fun putting together this white ostrich feather centerpiece for the dessert table:
I was on a sugar high just by walking by these desserts:
Tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries are always cute!
After a little Russian vodka…the guys joined the headless Lenin statue for a photo:
Inside the vodka vault with jackets and hats provided by Red Square:
The menu was very important to our foodie bride so I also made sure that Adam took plenty of photos of the food! Perhaps this is the reason we got along?
I love the ambiance and decor of this beautiful Russian restaurant!

I love wedding receptions in restaurants. The red bread plates were so pretty!
One of my favorite photos of a bouquet. I love the backdrop of the vodka vault for this deep red rose bridal bouquet:
Thank you Kristine and Aeden for allowing us to be a part of your special day.

Aliante Station Casino + Hotel Event Showcase
Attention all brides and grooms: Aliante Station Casino + Hotel will be hosting an Event Showcase tomorrow from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm in their Scottsdale ballroom.
I had an opportunity to attend a breakfast meeting at Aliante a few months ago and I was impressed! I also had the opportunity to lounge in their poolside cabana and had a relaxing time. If you haven’t booked your wedding ceremony and reception venue yet or had a chance to see the beautiful Aliante in person, this is a great opportunity! Don’t miss it!
Red Rock Casino, Resort, Spa in Las Vegas
Red Rock Casino is one of my favorite off strip properties. Located close to the Red Rock Canyon and approximately 11 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, it is a serene location for those desiring an escape from the Strip.
Begin your stay with an aromatherapy massage from The Spa at Red Rock, relax in one of their 19 private cabanas, dine in one of their delicious restaurants, and enjoy your stay in a modern hotel room with a 42-inch plasma TV, iPod jack, and many other amenities.
Your catering manager can arrange for a suite on the same level as your ballroom with direct access to the convention center so that you can completely avoid the casino during your stay. The catering and banquet staff is excellent, food is always delectable, and most of their ballrooms include verandas. To end your evening, an after party may take place at Cherry Nightclub or a private bowling suite at the VIP Lanes.
Starting next week and until October, Green Orchid Events will be coordinating a total of four weddings there and hopefully with more to come in 2010!

Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas
Three years ago today, my husband and I were married at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. The Four Seasons Hotel is a beautiful hotel with fine service and delicious cuisine. We definitely felt pampered here! Highly recommended!
Aliante Station Casino & Hotel
Today’s NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) meeting was at Aliante Station Casino & Hotel, a beautiful new hotel in North Las Vegas. Shauna, the catering director, help put together a delicious breakfast menu for the NACE group this morning and a few of us were able to get together for a few hours at the poolside cabanas. I definitely recommend it for a nice, relaxing escape!
Check out their meetings page for photos and additional information on their convention space.
Wynn Las Vegas
Wynn Las Vegas is one of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas. Green Orchid Events planned a beautiful wedding for Sarah and Geoffrey who tied the knot in the Lavender Wedding Salon at Wynn Las Vegas in April.
Be on the lookout for their feature and story on The Vegas Wedding Planner blog.

New Hotels and Resorts in Las Vegas
Element Las Vegas Summerlin by Westin

The masterplanned community of Summerlin in Las Vegas Nevada is home to the newest Starwood property: the 123 room element las vegas summerlin.
This environmentally-friendly hotel provides a complimentary and healthy breakfast every morning is enough for me to book a “staycation” there!

The all new El Cortez Cabana Suites is located in Downtown Las Vegas in the Fremont East Entertainment District.

Hotel 32 is the upgraded 32nd floor of the Monte Carlo that was damaged in the January 2008 fire. There are still no details since everything is hush hush but I would love to stay there when it opens!
