How Do I Fold This Napkin?

For a formal plated sit down meal, your place setting is the first thing your guests will see upon arriving at their seats (after they see that beautiful centerpiece of course).

Venues usually have their “standard” way of folding napkins. By no means are you required to have them fold your napkins that way. During your wedding planning process, this is a great question that you can ask your catering manager. Some venues have plenty of options and you can feel free to figure out the style that works best for you. There’s no need for the “goblet fan” or “opera fan” for your special wedding day!

When thinking about how to fold your napkin for your wedding reception, also keep in mind where you’ll be placing your wedding favor as well as the style, shape/size of your menu. Will there be a napkin ring? Will you have a single bloom at each place setting?

There are entire books on napkin folding. I remember that as an undergrad at UNLV, we had an entire class on napkin folding (sadly, I ditched that day…oops but I more than made up for that with the hands on banquet training I received at numerous hotels).

Handmade Jewelry – Lola and George

I was recently introduced to this beautiful line of handmade jewelry by my friend Andrea Eppolito. Carla Taylor is the brilliant designer behind Lola and George and we are so lucky that she calls Las Vegas her home!

Originally from Peru, Carla began sculpting when she was 5 years old and studied wire sculpture at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is inspired by many creative things including music, painting, photography, as well as her husband and her children.

Carla and her jewelry line Lola and George have been featured in Lucky, 944, and Vegas magazines and worn by celebrities such as Olivia Wilde, Amanda Bynes, and Jennie Garth.

I’m loving these bridal shoes from Lanalia shoes. Lanalia recently partnered with Swarovski to bring customized stylish wedding shoes to the everyday bride. Brides can now customize their heel height, width, and color. Each shoe also has a cushion of Poron, a NASA-created high-density cushioning with built-in arch support. I love their focus on comfort in addition to style.

Pet Save the Dates

What do I think about a wedding with this adorable Save the Date? Well, I’m excited! Michelle and Keith have two Boston terriers – one of which is named “Vegas” – after the town they met in! They will be tying the knot in September at the Primrose Courtyard at Wynn Las Vegas and celebrating with a reception at PURE Nightclub inside Caesars Palace.

Featured on Rock N Roll Bride

I’ve so excited to announce that our photo shoot has been featured on Rock ‘n Roll Bride!

Back in January when Las Vegas was rainy and gloomy, we thought it would be a great idea to put together a bridal shoot! I was inspired by our model and my good friend Anne Claire’s wedding dress. She had a teal sash on the waist of her wedding dress and that was inspiration behind the color scheme of the entire photo shoot – teal, bright yellow, and steel gray.

I’m so happy that we had such a great team. Anne Claire and her husband Brian were such good sports in the freezing cold!

Eco-Elegant Bridal Affair at Springs Preserve

Last year I had the opportunity to participate in the 1st annual Eco-Elegant Bridal Affair at the Springs Preserve. It’s the only one of its kind here in Las Vegas – a bridal fair showcasing eco-friendly vendors. I’m not able to participate this year due to scheduling conflicts but I’m so happy that they’ll be hosting the 2nd annual Eco-Elegant Bridal Affair this Sunday, May 2nd.

I encourage brides and grooms to stop by and check out the beautiful Springs Preserve as well as meet the wonderful participating eco friendly wedding professionals.

In addition, there will be a silent auction benefiting the American Cancer Society.
