Formally Introducing Our Wedding Day Coordinator Angelica McDonnell

Angelica McDonnell has been with Green Orchid Events since the summer of 2008. She started off as a wedding day assistant and has moved up and become our lead wedding day coordinator as well as party planner for our social events. I had to wait until she had a professional photo to talk about her and it’s taken far too long!

Angelica will have more of a presence on this blog in the next few weeks and will be writing her own blog posts! I’m looking forward to her fun perspective on weddings, style, flowers, beauty, and fashion!

Real Las Vegas Wedding: Red and Chocolate Brown

Congratulations to Kate and Ge, a sweet couple from Boston, who were married in October at the beautiful Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa! Their colors were red and chocolate brown which were perfect for this setting. Besides Kate’s love for the color red, she also wanted to honor her groom’s Chinese heritage. Some of his family flew in all the way from China to witness their wedding! Following a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony with music played by an acoustic guitarist, Kate, Ge, and their family and close friends celebrated with a cocktail style reception.

Cheesecake Lollipops

The first time I saw cheesecake lollipops, I was at a Concierge event with my sister at the David Burke restaurant inside the Venetian Resort, Hotel & Casino. This was a few years ago and it seems that I’m starting to see this trend more and more and it has carried over to weddings and events.

We recently did a wedding with a cocktail style reception. Red Rock Casino, Resort, & Spa created cheesecake lollipops and we placed it on a bed of red sugar crystals to coordinate with the bride and groom’s wedding color.

Los Angeles Couple Kristine and Aeden to wed in Las Vegas!

Kristine and Aeden will tie the knot this weekend in an intimate ceremony and we’re all looking forward to their great welcome cocktail reception and dinner!

Kristine was a referral from the wonderful Tracey Kumer-Moore of Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge who couldn’t take this wedding because of prior commitments. Thank you Tracey!

Anyway, Kristine is in the event industry herself as a Senior Event Manager for Marriott International in Los Angeles and wanted to hire a wedding day coordinator so she could just relax this weekend and not feel like she’s working! Kristine, I’ll make sure we take good care of you!

My New Headshots by Chelsea Nicole

I was long overdue for professional head shots for my website. The only professional photos I had were bridal photos that I did for fun with my friend Candace Simpson from Elegant Images or photos as a singer in full stage makeup and costume – neither of which are appropriate for a wedding planner’s website and blog. After talking to Liene Stevens of Splendid Communications during a recent Blogging Bootcamp seminar, I scheduled my photo session with Chelsea Nicole!
