Eunie and Phillip’s Wedding at Historic 5th Street School

Our lovely Korean couple Eunie and Phillip were married on October 23rd at Historic 5th Street School. Their day was filled with friends and family who traveled from many different places to be a part of their big day. Eunie is actually an Art Director so naturally she designed and created many of the decor elements at her wedding. Their ceremony was very sweet as the classical guitarist played songs by The Beatles and the Ring Bearers walked down the aisle carrying the rings placed on Eunie and Phillip’s favorite books. Guests dined on delicious Mexican cuisine and got to create their own fajitas with a skillet placed at each table. I wish Eunie and Phillip many years filled with love, happiness, and slow dances to their favorite songs. Enjoy their beautiful images!

Each table was labeled by a letter instead of a number to represent their grammar school venue.

Paper lanterns swayed above while little flower pots with flower seeds served as the wedding favor.

Levity Gourmet Marshmallows

Nostalgic treats are always a hit at weddings and other milestone celebrations. Cupcakes have been popular the last few years at weddings and so have sliders and mini french fries in cones for example. Sweet treats such as candy buffets and cookie bars have also been very popular at weddings and celebrations. But how about a marshmallow bar?

Levity Gourmet Marshmallows, located right here in Las Vegas, NV (well, technically Henderson, NV), recently launched their online gourmet marshmallow boutique. Owners Elisabeth Papadopoulos and Nathan Hollrith wanted to share their passion for marshmallows and believe that “marshmallows is the new cupcake”.

Current flavors include vanilla, cocoa, strawberry, mint, lemon, s’more (my personal favorite), peanut butter crunch, white chocolate chip macadamia nut, toasted coconut, and coffee caramel swirl. Be on the lookout for new flavors as they are always experimenting and developing new flavors.

Levity Gourmet Marshmallows are priced from $14 – $18 depending on the flavor for packages of 15. They are also available for wedding favors, custom orders, or larger quantities and are sold exclusively in their online store.

Giving Thanks with your Wedding Favors

They say the best wedding favors are the ones that you can eat and the ones that you can use. What about the ones that make you feel like you made a difference? With the holidays approaching, a great favor is a donation on behalf of each guest at your wedding. Green Orchid Events has coordinated many weddings where the Bride and Groom did this and it left you with a warm feeling.

You may get stationery made and have them placed at each setting explaining to guests which charity or organization you picked and why it is important to you.

Another way to give back would be to have a toy drive or have guests donate clothes, toiletries, canned food, etc. in place of a wedding gift. This is a extremely touching idea and something your guests will never forget. Below are some local as well as national charities and organizations that could use your help.

Wedding Favor Idea: Girl Scout Cookies

Who doesn’t like Girl Scout Cookies? Well, I do NOT have a sweettooth and a box of cookies will remain in my pantry untouched for months but Girl Scout Cookies are a totally different story.

Last week, my friend asked me if I wanted to buy Girl Scout Cookies to help raise money for her daughter to go to Disneyland. Brilliant fundraiser. It sure beats the Hershey’s chocolate bars that I sold when I was still in school. I reserved 5 boxes with her without hesitation – 3 boxes of Peanut Butter Patties and 2 boxes of Thin Mints. I bet they’ll all be gone in a month.

Like I said, who doesn’t like Girl Scout Cookies??

Since the box is so much larger than a traditional sized favor and does not match any wedding color scheme, I thought that it would be a neat idea to wrap the boxes up to match your wedding decor and place them at a favor table. I’m sure your guests would LOVE to open up that gift! The favors can also act as escort cards.

Of course, there’s the idea of placing a few different flavors in a cellophane sleeve with a custom sticker. It’s prettier but I’d be a happy guest if I got a whole box of cookes!

Delicious, Organic, Fair Trade Chocolate

Here I go talking about chocolate again…

But this time, I’d like to introduce Theo Chocolate – the first and only organic and Fair Trade chocolate produced in the United States. That is quite an accomplishment! With more and more couples moving in the direction of “green” weddings and events, it is exciting to know that you can get organic chocolate wedding favors and chocolate sculptures for your next event. This is a chocoholic’s dream!
